Fun with MacOS (NOT) [was Re: Announceing subsurface 1.2]

So it turns out that apparently only a few of the fonts on the Mac
correctly render the UTF8 characters that I used for the star rating.

Two that I found are

Arial Unicode MS
Apple LiSung

Even many other fonts with Unicode in their name (like Lucida Sans
Unicode) don't contain these glyphs.

Right now subsurface doesn't allow you to change the font used in the UI
so you won't get to see the stars correctly in the UI. You can change
your divelist to one of the fonts listed above - but that's not really
solving the problem that the UI is broken.

The good news is that I hate the way the current UI works when it comes
to setting the star rating (and Linus vehemently agrees), so this will
be reworked, anyway. The bad news is that for now (as far as I can tell)
you are stuck on a Mac (well, you get a UI that doesn't really work for
the star rating - so it's not really a step back from what you had
before, where there was no star rating).

I am also working on getting a Mac installer package up for download but
am running into some odd issues with creating that package - so bear
with me while I battle an OS I am less familiar with.

The good news (off topic, given the Subject: of this email) is that I
have a working Windows installer up on the website (please test when you
get a chance... so far this has only been run in a VM with Win7)

Thanks

/D
