Ok, but would you agree that an optional "Export as CSV..." function
couldn't hurt and would be even simpler to implement, so those unhappy
with the "standard print table" output could still do their own formatting
(without requiring programming skills)?

Every additional option would certainly increase the ratio of users
who would consider the print function "good enough" to not look for
alternatives, but I am somewhat concerned that trying to raise this
ratio is throwing effort into a bottomless pit - people would always
be asking for yet another tiny bit of additional formatting freedom,
until you re-implemented FrameMaker...

I for one am not overly concerned with the looks of my dive log, but
still found it necessary to post-process the "dive index" postscript files
that Suunto's SDM produced in a cumbersome way (using ps2nup, ps2ps, sed
in unspeakable ways) - just because otherwise they would not have reasonably
fit in my A5 sized dive log binder.
