Hi,
I've got your e-mail address from dirkhh in #subsurface at irc.freenode.net.
If I write you, it's because I've a connection problem with my Uwatec Smart
Com (that seems to be supported according to the internet site of subsurface).
When I try to connect my pc with my SmartCom Uwatec (I'm using a usb-IrDA
bundle), subsurface suggests me to use /dev/ttyUSB0 as device/mount point, but
then I get the message "Unable to open Uwatec Smart Com (/dev/ttyUSB0)". I'm
running kubuntu 12.04.
I tryed to understand what was wrong, so I tryed to type in the terminal the
following commands (results are at the end of this e-mail):
1/ lsusb && lsusb -t
2/ dmesg
3/ subsurface -v
But I'm a newbie and still unable to understand what is wrong. The only useful
information I can give you is that when I was on MS Windows XP (10 years ago)
that usb-IrDA bundle used to work fine with my SmartCom and SmartTrak (the
software of Uwatec). Now I've left windows because of some issue on my pc and
be very happy with Linux and don't want to change back or emulate the other OS.
I hope that someone of you was able to communiate to an Uwatec Smart Com with
subsurface, and if so, please help me.
Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
Ab3L
