Of course the underlying physics is always going to be more complex than 
what you can capture in a simple flag. Without any official info from 
Suunto, we'll probably never know the exact meaning, if all we get from 
their software are the words "below floor". But I'm sure you won't deny 
that's already an improvement compared to the "unknown" we had before 
:-)
