asciidoc options differ between 8.6.7 and 8.6.8?

Looks like it is version dependent.

$ asciidoc -a toc -a toclevels=3 -a 
themedir=/home/subsurface/Documentation -theme=compact_wf user-manual.txt
asciidoc: illegal command options

However,
$ asciidoc -a toc -a toclevels=3 -a 
themedir=/home/subsurface/Documentation --theme compact_wf user-manual.txt
$

I run V8.6.7 on Ubuntu 12.10

BTW I am going to change the css filename from compact_wf to 
compact_subsurface
