The plot thickens. Very interesting indeed. Can you dig around in the
developer documentation if there was an interface that changed?

But more likely this then needs to be filed as a Pango bug...

(this might explain why I haven't been able to reproduce this - while I
have a 10.8 system I never print from it...)
