I doubt that any more aggressive default settings would help much. My
experiments indicate that at least Suunto and very very likely all the
other DC manufactures have tuned their algorithms for NDL diving so
much that no pure deco algorithm gets it even close to same values.
(Or the algorithms just are so different.)

A clear disclaimer explaining this might be a better solution. E.g.
when one enables the deco calculations for the first time, a pop-up
describing this difference in algorithms and maybe some other relevant
information would probably be enough for the initial shock.
