Well, in the example function I quoted I had added "gasmix" as a
parameter, since at least in theory the whole thing should depend on
the exact gas you are breathing.

Doing a whole van der Waals would then imply also figuring out what
the attraction constants etc would be for the gas.

Which, quite frankly, sounds insane to me. I'm sure it's doable, but
let's face it, I don't think we really want to go there.
