[PATCH] Work on a dive localisation tool using GPS coordinates

Hi.

I am running openSUSE 12.1 with a fairly ordinary KDE installation. The
addition of the osm code breaks compilation for me as follows:

- osm-gps-map is not available via SUSE
- installation of source tar from
http://nzjrs.github.com/osm-gps-map/fails also implicating
gnome-common
- latter is available as 3.1.0 [will this cause issues with subsurface use
of gtk+2.x ?
- once gnome-common is installed from SUSE/Yast we fall over on libsoup.

I thought I had libsoup right as the Yast marker read 2_4.1 but looking at
the details, it looks as though that translates into 2.36.1-2.1.3 behind
the scenes.

I'm wary about carrying on down this path before taking advice. Anyone
confronted this successfully on openSUSE?

Regards,

Amit

[Haven't looked at Mac OS X 10.8 yet; my other system. Anyone got that
working too - I'm interested ?]
