actually, you've mentioned a similar issue for the about dialog when i sent it.
(attachment = print dialog on ubuntu here).

are there any font scaling modifications on your OS end (e.g. 120%
font size) and how is the preferences dialog in comparison e.g. units
section?
i recall that one time i've modified the font scalling on windows
(windows has that as a 'DPI' setting) and there were font issues with
most software.
