Ok, so that "something odd" was the lack of deviceid initializer that
I just sent a patch for.

Trying to download from the Uemis, I did notice that that didn't work.
There's probably some missing glue for that whole special case that
you simply didn't do in the Qt branch.

So for importing the Uemis data from today, I did have to finally use
the old gtk version of subsurface.

I think the remaining issues are all UI things.
