So Linus - I agree with you that enabling ModemManager by default in
Linux distributions in 2013 is complete lunacy and should be treated as
a bug. But then again, I see the issue itself a little bit along the
lines of "yes, this other software is broken, but that's not the users'
fault".
So for the two Subsurface users out there who actually need ModemManager
to be running, I'm inclined to include an explanation how to do that.
AFTER pointing out that in almost all cases the correct solution is to
disable ModemManager and file a bug with the distro.

I was hoping to cut 3.1.1 today or tomorrow morning (just arrived from
China). Have people tested the binaries? Any outstanding patches?
