subsurface on Linux Mint

JFYI:

I intend to give away an older laptop of mine, so I erased its disk
and figured what Linux distribution to put on it, assuming the receiver
is a computer-illiterate. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS refused to install because
the Pentium-M does not support PAE, so I installed Linux Mint 13, which
is derived from Ubuntu 12.04, but does install fine with non-PAE-supporting
CPUs. (Mint 14, however, does not run on non-PAE-supporting CPUs, just
as newer Ubunto versions won't.)

Since the receiver is also involved with diving, I of course wanted
to pre-install subsurface, but adding the Ubuntu repository as suggested
did not work - the software package manager happily included the additional
repository, but subsurface is still not to be found among the packages
listed.

I ended up just downloading
> http://ppa.launchpad.net/subsurface/subsurface/ubuntu/pool/main/libd/libdivecomputer/libdivecomputer0_0.3.0-1~exp1ppa1_i386.deb
> http://ppa.launchpad.net/subsurface/subsurface/ubuntu/pool/main/s/subsurface/subsurface_3.0.2-1~exp2ppa1_i386.deb
directly and doing
  dpkg -i /tmp/libdivecomputer0_0.3.0-1~exp1ppa1_i386.deb
  dpkg -i /tmp/subsurface_3.0.2-1~exp2ppa1_i386.deb
after which subsurface runs just fine. I guess there will be no automatic
updating, though.
