Subsurface on Mavericks: Back in business

Hi,

I would like to report that finally I managed to compile the latest subsurface on Mavericks in a way that it does not crash on start-up anymore.

To do that, i ended up commenting out one line in the marble sources. It’s in the Marble::HttpDownloadManager. I guess it disables that download functionality but I cannot tell a difference in the behavior of the marble ;-)

To be specific, I edited HttpDownloadManager.moc and in function^H^H^H^H^H^H method marble::HttpDownlaodManager::qt_static_metacall I commented out the case 5: line that does “addJob”.

Now it does not crash anymore and I can go on testing and coding.

I realize I should not edit the .moc. I should rather comment out the connect in the .cpp but it’s a hack anyway.

I am only writing this to share it with others that might have a similar problem and to report to be back on board.

[If somebody is actually interested in debugging the Qt/Marble code that lead to this I would of course happy to be of help. But my understanding of that code is just too limited to be useful on its own].

Best
Robert
