The good news is that they are pretty reactive to fixes and bug reports. 
They've fixed the 4.12 build on Mac that I had, so I'll try upgrading again. 
Then I might be able to fix the leaks there.

Subsurface code or Marble code? I'll be happy to explain my own changes. In 
fact, if my commit messages aren't explaining the changes, I'm doing something 
wrong, so please let me know.
