Extremely slow Petrel import + crash when saving

Two things:

(1) I tried importing the 57 dives from my Petrel.  It worked, but it took
about 40 minutes.  After the initial handshake (with progress bar moving),
the progress bar stayed at 0% while the computer said "Sending Dive".
Painful experience.

(2) I didn't want to do that again, so I went to File » Save as.
