Shearwater petrel + original bluetooth dongle = kernel crash

Hi,

I have a Shearwater Petrel with the original bluetooth dongle that was
shipped with the computer.

If I'm lucky, when I try to download the logs, I get a "Slip RX: unexp.
SLIP END" error. Then, eventually or before I can even get an error
message, the computer freezes, crashes or switch to text mode displaying
a big oops. The stacktrace shows some EXT4 functions, but I can't see
the full thing since I don't know how to scroll back up and I don't
think it's very useful. Smells like memory corruption done by the kernel
module handling the dongle. The kern.log isn't much helpful:

I'm using:
Subsurface v3.1.1, built with libdivecomputer v0.4.2-devel
(043fc4166c91572e3b4c0458865de5ffc8f71992)
   Ubuntu 13.04
   Linux 3.8.0-30-generic x86_64

I doubt this is really the right place to report this bug since it seems
kernel related, but I'm following the instructions in the subsurface
documentations.

Thanks.
