Yes, the localization can do that. You could simply add a en_GB
translation with different date strings (admittedly, I still haven't
spent the time to get localization to actually work in the Qt version...
but that's on my todo list).

There are lots of different ways to specify these. Making the parser a
little more flexible shouldn't be too hard. Feel free to submit
patches :-)
