With decent gradient factor settings (in particular GFlow) the algorithm should produce sufficiently deep stops for you. You should not meed to enter them manually.

I don’t think the planner will be ready for 4.1. I am currently working on it. For the state of things have a look at my branch on https://github.com/atdotde/subsurface/tree/oneplannertable
