It works on Qt 5. The question is on Qt 4.

Are you asking why your Qt 4 builds without the patch?

Probably because Qt 4.8.5 added this patch:
 https://qt.gitorious.org/qt/qt/commit/99f0754e

Which makes Qt 4 ignore the requests for the new libs from Qt 5 that were 
split from existing libs. So I'm guessing Rohit has a Qt version older than 
4.8.5 (sorry, crystal ball was opaque back in 2011...)
