fair warning - white space changes are coming

If you have any outstanding patches, those might become a little harder
to apply as I will be running my coding style / whitespace tool over the
sources in the next few hours.

Please let me know if that's an issue for you. I'm reasonably certain
that I can actually make it work if you send me patches against current
master, but it's easier if we don't have too many of them.
