Build error for subsurface companion (android)

Hi Avinash,
You can get such error if neither Google Play services aren't installed or library isn't attached to the project properly.
To resolve this problem you should:
1) go to Android SDK Manager and check if Google Play services (under Extras section) are installed;
2) attach this library as stated here for Eclipse or here for IDEA.
