towards 4.2

OK,

so apparently I broke a lot less than I thought I would. That's as likely
as Germany winning against Brazil in football. Ridiculous.

Anyway.

Let's look at getting a first 4.2 beta out the door. I'll need to fix the
transifex issue (I'll work on that today). Here's what else I think needs
to get looked into:

- 564 (manual search box): Tomaz told me he had a fix but I haven't seen it, yet
- 581 (keyboard shortcuts on Qt5 / Mac): no idea what's wrong there
- 590 (printing): this is a mess. in 6-up mode the first plot shows the info overlay; font sizes are all messed up
- 560 (tags): Tomaz fixed one of the tag bugs but made another one worse
- 583 (missing icons): we definitely need the network preference icon
- 586 (excessive heading events): it would be neat to have a preferences option to turn these off - as a quick fix until we implement #534 for 4.3

Additionally I have not triaged the following bugs, yet. Anyone who could
look into reproducing / commenting / fixing them, PLEASE, we need your
help: 589, 593, 601, 603, 605

Of course the manual needs minor updates and updated pictures.

Also, I remember a discussion about an option to hide pictures - something
in the toolbar. Should we do this before 4.2 or leave it for 4.3?
