I think the problem comes about as the dive planner produces the ascent plan as a html table (I was told to do so after an initial attempt with an ascii table and following confusion for non-proportional fonts). And once html is used, in addition we use boldface and color attributes as well.
That said, we might in the future allow the user to enter rich text (that gets stored as html). Isn’t the widget in principle already supporting that?
