Aladin Tec2G import

Again on Uwatec, Maybe a little OT.
I'm trying to help a friend of mine migrating to subsurface.

He is on a Mac. It runs SmartTrack on a w7 virtual machine but is not able
to download data from his Tec2G. So he uses an old xp laptop just to use a
Chinese IRDA dongle to download data.

Is there any chance to have a clean solution having (just) a IRDA dongle
and subsurface?
