PATCH for Ticket #445 (Adding units to mean depth value)

Hello Umair,
I think all the bugs listed on that page are for all gsoc 2014 aspirants(as
far as I know from my discussion with dirkhh)

I'm not sure about the assignment part. And you can always try a new way to
do the same. Let us see if someone will clarify the same.
