TBH, most decompression theories are just that. There are far too many variables to get a definitive algorithm.
If you're really interested, I would suggest that you get hold of a copy of "Deco for Divers" by Mark Powell (Aquapress ISBN 9781905492077). This covers just about everything (including a lot of the maths).
