Lakshman,

regarding your proposal: I think you can make it stronger by first focussing on making the planner with Buehlmann/GF usable and then adding VPM to it. Further hint: Don’t call Buehlmann mathematical as compared to the physical VPM. Both are about physics, but the first about the physics of diffusion while the other is about the physics of bubble formation and growth.
