personally, much more than OS, other data would be be very interesting: Namely, what types of features our users use and on which features we should invest more time. How important is printing? How many people ever you the “tech diving”-features? How many use SI vs. imperial units? What about images? What about trips/single dives at home? So data, we could collect would be

total number of dives
number of dives in last year
average and max depth and time
any nitrox/trimix/rebreather dives
percentage of dives in trips
percentage of dives with geo coordinates
average length of dive notes
fraction of dives with tags assigned
…

Those data are of course of much more personal nature. So if we transferred those that needed to be opt in and transferring it on first use makes little sense. Maybe we should rather do a survey on our web page and once remind our users to fill in the survey?
