Because in this case there was an "empty" cylinder in the middle of the
list. And because of that verify_gas_exists() gave up too early - and
things went downhill really fast.

I just pushed a one-liner fix for this particular issue.

Have you looked at what it would take to disable the ruler so maybe we can
fix the other issue that Henrik and Joakim were seeing?
