It is. The option is poorly named and should most probably just be
removed. Initially the remote git storage (cloud storage) would only sync
when you OPENED the file, but not when you saved. The rationale was that
synching when you saved at exit would possibly mean that it took
Subsurface a very long time to exit. I don't think that was a good call
and think we should just remove the option.

Yes, it does save to the cloud storage as well as to the local cache.

quickly fix your problem so you wouldn't be stuck until I got up a second
time... but wanted to express that I wasn't going to be online for a few
