I downloaded the brand new Petrel firmware (v29), and can now pair the
devices :)  Great timing by Shearwater there - apparently the issue has
been known for months, but they only released the fix today.

The scan works, and scrolling across tells me that it knows the Petrel is
paired.  But the save button is greyed out so quit is the only way I can
leave this dialog.

Ha. An awkward UI is forgivable given how new the Android builds are.  I
was rather amused to see the desktop version of Suburface on a phone screen.
