Great. Not.

First thing to try with confusing backtraces that end in malloc is
Valgrind. Since my build server is currently a Ubuntu 14.04 system I might
be able to debug this, but today I'll be driving around in a car most of
the day, so I'm not sure how quickly I'll get to this.

If one of the other Ubuntu users wants to give this a try I'd appreciate
it.
