Project Hosting

Hello all I am utpal open source enthusiast interested in contributing for
project Idea "porting to android platform" . Now I see the project is not
hosted on git rather it's hosted on your website correct me if I am wrong .
The point being how would be able to contribute to the existing codebase .
I mean can i just create branches and start or rather i need to fork?(which
doesn't seem an option to me in here).
Answers would be appreciated .
