Hello! My name is Abhinav Agarwal. I am a second year Computer Engineering
Student at Birla Institute of Science and Technology, Pilani. I am
interested in applying for GSOC under subsurface. I know I am a little late
and have only started looking at subsurface two days ago but let that not
be an indicator of my motivation for contributing. I am very excited and
eager to apply!

What I've done so far:
1. read through the documentation. watched the video and understood how
subsurface works
2. installed subsurface on windows and played around with it. cloned the
repo in a fedora vm built it from the code using instructions given
3. looked at some bugs
4. I am looking at the proposal ideas and will decide upon one and prepare
a rough draft within the next 2-3 days.

I intend to submit atleast two patches before I submit my proposal. I have
looked at Bug #830 and have the following question. I want to make sure I
understand it correctly. In Windows the default file format for xml export
is .xml and in nix the default is .ssrf. I have tabulated some test cases
in both Windows and in Fedora which shows what is the given filename and
what it actually gets saved as.
I have also written what it should have been saved as (as according to the
bug fix?). Please comment if I am correct or suggest a correction.
