That seems like a reasonable thing to try... I'm finishing up the 4.5.2 release.
I'll try to play with this later.

This is one of the things that almost made me hold back on releasing
4.5.2 as AppImage, but then I figured "what the heck - this is much better
than not having anything for those on unsupported Linux distros"

But yes, I'm definitely curious to see this resolved.
