This looks good. I think now may be our last chance to change the path of
the git cache folder. Once 4.5 out there we may be stuck with it.

Would you send a patch for THAT before 4.5? Much as I hate doing this
after Beta 3 I came to the conclusion that not doing it would be even
worse.
