Have you tried with the current version of Subsurface (4.5.6)? This 'bug' may already be fixed.

Subject: Photo Import

Hi
Not sure where to raise this bug/feature request just been trying to import photographs into a log & have found that they are not recognised unless they are .jpg (lower-case) & not .JPG (upper-case). surly Linux should not be relying on the extn. to identify file types?

my camera sets them upper-case & I would prefer not to have to change then unnecessarily

OS Fedora V24
Subsurface Version 4.4.2
