Subject: git repository corrupted?

I just noticed that webgit doesn't give proper information and tried
to clone a completely new repository to verify:

$ git clone git://subsurface-divelog.org/subsurface
Cloning into 'subsurface'...

remote: Compressing objects: 100% (14531/14531), done.

Resolving deltas: 100% (40910/40910), done.
Checking connectivity... done.
warning: remote HEAD refers to nonexistent ref, unable to checkout.

Something is not working right.
