I like the structure of the updated text. An unfortunate side-effect of my
patches to adjust the colour scale (if accepted) will be that the legend
will need to be adjusted too.

A couple of other points:

-Purple: Tissue has inert gas pressure approaching 80% of the
saturation inert gas pressure
-(lower horizontal black line in image A).
+Purple: Tissue has inert gas pressure approaching 80% of the ambient
pressure
+(Top of light green area in *A*).

Should be "approximately 80% of the ambient inert gas partial pressure"
(or if my patch today isn't accepted, "approximately 80% of the fraction of
inert gas in air multiplied by the ambient pressure")

-Black: Inert gas pressure in tissue approximates the saturation inert
gas pressure (lower
-horizontal black line in image A).
+Black: Inert gas pressure in tissue approximates the ambient pressure (Top
of light green area in *A*).
Should be "approximately the ambient inert gas partial pressure"
(or if my patch today isn't accepted, "approximately the fraction of inert
gas in air multiplied by the ambient pressure")

Cheers,

Rick
