in the last paragraph of the Baker notes that Rick quoted he actually sells this as a feature of VPM-B: Thanks to the recompression of the bubbles, their effect is less severe (I doubt I believe this conclusion). He gives a reference for this in terms of two names and a year (without more bibliographical detail) and google scholar indeed lists a paper that fits these names and year. But I find it unlikely that it contains the result he claims it contains.
