Mobile ftdi download

Please help an uninformed person. Ftdilib sits below libdivecomputer, i.e.
Libdivecomputer uses libftdi for transferring data? If so, this means a
port ID of 'ftdi'  needs to be assigned by Android. But the present dowload
screen does not have a port text field or combo box. This means that
Subsurface would need to provide a dive computer make and model. Each entry
for a make/model would contain an appropriate port identification (and
pid/vid and perhaps transfer mechanism/protocol). What else would be
required to make a download work? Or is it quite a bit more complex?
