that means, turning on that option makes the planner slower (i.e. it takes longer for the plan to adopt when you make changes to the dive). You will notice this in particular when you are in VPM-B mode and move one of the dive handles. The reason is that with that option turned on, actually decompression plans for five different dives are computed (each one minute shorter and longer as well as one meter deeper and shallower).
