i don't think i got this right on the first attempt.
trying again.

i think it was a case where 5.9.5 was working file for the wip/win
branch, but QtConnectivity started using a new feature (i don't
remember which one) and i tried Qt 5.10.
qmake in 5.10 failed building for me (there is a discussion with
Thiago earlier in this thread about it), so that's why i switched to
QtBase 5.11 and it worked.

i think it's best, instead of trusting my memory, to just try building
the QtConnectivity module from the wip/win branch against the version
of Qt that you currently have (Qt 5.10.1) and see how it goes.
please share error logs, if any.
