I've recently switched to the SubSurface divelog software after many recommendations.  Yay! As per the user manual, I am contacting you for assistance transferring my SmartTrak slg format to something I can import into the SubSurface software.   I don't have the skills to follow the Linux instructions so I chose the "For the lazy" option, however, the resultant file is always 0 Kb and the interface doesn't resemble the images in the user manual. I tried a DAN DL7 export but the field sorter also doesn't resemble the user manual and doesn't seem to work either. Thoughts on how to proceed?  If it matters, I'm on version 4.9.6. Much appreciated! Wishing you a fabulous day! Eileen  -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It seems Robert's web page is using a version which has a tank related bug and is not working at this moment. I you are on windows you can try https://subsurface-divelog.org/downloads/smtk2ssrf-4.9.6.exe the import tool. If you are on linux ... All AppImages of the import tool I've tried fail miserably in my machine ... So the only way, at this moment, is building the tool from source. Finally you can (privately) send me your .slg file and I'll import it to Subusurface's format for you. Best regards. Salva. Fixing this issue should be easier and faster and users would have an easy way to go. May be I can take a look at it this weekend. what a rabbit hole! I tried to build a current version on my server, to find out that the installed Qt version is too old to be useful. So tried to install a more recent on directly from Qt. Oh, that insists on running a GUI installer on my headless machine? OK, let’s do X11 over ssh. OK, now I have 5.14. Oh, that does not get picked up by the build script (later on in some make file)? Maybe it’s a good time to do a distribution upgrade on that Debian server. At least this went well without leaving to much of a mess (only a few cron scripts complaining that they cannot find their required perl modules, but those could eventually be installed). Now the Qt version is fine, it still does not build, because libgit2 complains about not being able to find some libcurl library. But that is there. Hmm. Oh, there are several versions of libcurl in Debian, I have the openssl one installed. Rookie mistake, it should be the TLS version. And the openssl version needs to be deinstalled. Now, finally, I have a fresh smtk2ssrf binary. It still warns about const/non-const and min/max being redefined. But I get a binary. Too bad, it still core dumps on Ivar’s slg file (but converts older slg files just fine). Running it in gdp is not very illuminating, either. Now, it’s three hours later and I cannot ignore real work calling. To be continued. Best Robert -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I grabbed some old dives from a backup, copied to my Garmin, and download worked just fine with the original file naming. I tested this on Linux with 4.9.6 and current master. (For obvious reasons, I do not have any fresh dives on my computer :( ) With a brief look at our and libdivecomputer sources, I don't see anything that would explain the issue on a Mac. miika -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
