Two issues in 4.9.7 on OS X

I’m not a developer, unfortunately, but perhaps at some point I get annoyed enough to take a look at it.

I missed the setting, so for me it’s “solved”.

I don’t want to go against Linus of course, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t use OS X ;-)
