Issue with iOS 14.8.1 and mobile app sync

This is the first such report that I see. And unfortunately the screen shot below gives us very little to work with.
It's possible that indeed the app is getting stuck while trying to create the full text index (but that does seem somewhat unlikely that you'd be the only person who is affected by this).
And it could also be that it is one of the next steps that are causing this issue.
How long are you waiting for this to finish, i.e., how long does the app hang on this screen?
