Swedish transaltion update and How to use locale?

On my Ubuntu 12.04 system, LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8 fails too. However LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8 
works perfectly. When I check /usr/share/locale, there is no sv_SE, only sv. For 
dutch, there is both nl and nl_NL. I assume that has something to do with it?
