Yup, you were right.  Thanks!  I did download that driver ages ago, but 
haven't used that cable for a long time.  And there's been a couple of 
OS updates since then.  So, the updated HelO2 entry:

Suunto HelO2 with official cable: needs FTDI driver from 
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm, using device 
/dev/cu.usbserial-ST000001 on MacOSX 10.9
