Thanks, that helps a lot.
Somehow the libxml2 shared library got rebuilt without the backwards compatibility mode.
On Mac, unless you take explicit steps to support older versions, an app or library that you build always requires an OS at least as new as the one you are building on...

Let's see if I can fix that.
